CRAFT Development - Intentional Place Building

CRAFT Development is the real estate development arm of UrbanGreen, Inc., a Healdsburg based sustainable development advisory and development company. UrbanGreen was founded in 2003 to advise legacy landowners, cities and private developers on more sustainable ways of shaping the built environment.

In 2012, the firm’s founder, Jim Heid, FASLA, was selected to develop a new program of national study tours focused on the transformative power of small, incremental development techniques.  After leading tours and instructional programs in over 13 cities, Jim combined his advisory skills with practical development knowledge to form CRAFT as a way to catalyze innovative infill housing, mixed use and co-working solutions.  In addition to RiverHouse, CRAFT Development has completed other infill projects at 536 Johnson Street, 507-511 Johnson Street and 103 Marion Lane in Healdsburg. Craft|Work, CRAFT's new co-working venture in downtown Healdsburg is scheduled to open in 2019.

Our Builder/Partner

Beach Street Builders, Inc. and Jim Clifford, (President and Founder) is our Builder partner for RiverHouse. Jim has been in the home building industry for over 30 years and brings extensive experience in real estate development, land development, and general contracting to our team. Jim began his career as a union carpenter and quickly rose through management positions with some of California’s most respected public builders. During this time he oversaw the construction of over 4,500 homes. In 2003 he started Beach Street Builders to focus on custom residential and unique, small site infill developments. Jim’s understanding of custom home buyer expectations, and years of public home building for efficiency, makes him the ideal partner to help us deliver RiverHouse in 2020.

The Project Team
